Azatom launches new iPunch 2 speaker with lightning dock

Azatom iPunch 2 speaker dock

We have been fans of the rather unknown british audio brand Azatom for a while, and have had the pleasure to test out a wide range of their speakers, including the original Azatom iPunch. With the new iPunch 2 they have given the customer favourite an upgrade, as it now supports both Lightning and 30-pin docking as well as Bluetooth streaming.

It still has some of the cylindrical design of the original, but this time they have moved the dock to the top of the unit, in a closeable compartment that will protect the docking feature when it’s not in use, as i’m sure a lot will utilize the Bluetooth streaming instead of the docking station the majority of time. With the included dock adapter you now have the option to dock both your new Lightning enabled Apple devices as well as the older models using the traditional 30-pin connector.

In addition to the design upgrade and new docking feature, Azatom has packed their latest technology into the iPunch 2, including a Class D digital amp and their own custom Azatom DSP technology, found in amongst other their more high-end speakers, such as the Azatom Air and the Azatom BigBoy 2A. For a compact speaker dock it also comes with a respectable 30W power output.

The Azatom iPunch 2 is currently available from £45.99. I hope to be back with a hands on review of the iPunch 2 in the near future.
