In anticipation of news at the iPod conference 9th September, blueprints of 2nd generation iPod Touch are circulating online. You can see the blueprint here and read more about the possible new features of the upgraded iPod Touch.

Following earlier news about Apple holding their much expected iPod conference in San Francisco this coming Tuesday 9th September, news started to circulate online containing possible blueprints of a new iPod Touch.

iLounge was among the first to reveal the new blueprints of a 2nd generation iPod Touch and the 4th generation iPod Nano. The blueprints of the new iPod Touch reveals that it will take after the 3G iPhone design with more rounded features and being slightly taller and deeper. The dimensions on the blueprint of the 2nd generation iPod Touch are 111mm tall by 61.8mm wide and 8.4mm deep. The drawings also appear to feature a volume rocker on the side, a feature that many felt was missing on the original iPod Touch.

There is however no news about additional features of the upgraded 2nd generation iPod Touch. However the people over at Cnet has their own opinion on the iPod Touch and iPod Nano blueprints, saying that the biggest news at the iPod conference might be improvements to the iTunes software and steep reductions in the price of the iPod Touch, which will be much welcomed.

Apple has confirmed their San Francisco iPod event for Sept 9th, one at which we have in previous years seen the launch of new iPod Nano, iPod Touch, and the iPod Classic. Expect to see some new iPods being launched next week!

For those of you that have not already followed the ongoing debate over the last couple of months about the ‘post 3g iPhone’ next generation iPod, do not worry, as Apple has confirmed their San Francisco iPod event for Sept 9th, one at which we have in previous years seen the launch of new iPod Nano, iPod Touch, and the iPod Classic. There is no doubt that this years event will come with a few updates to the iPod as well, with a new generation iPod Nano being the hottest bet. Many are however also hoping to see upgrades to the iPod Touch and potentially the iPod Classic. We might even see the last update for the iPod Shuffle with an 4gb upgrade. While listing out what might be, we can all cross our fingers and hope that we might also see a price drop on the iPod leading up to Christmas shopping.

This iPod event should also give us an answer as to the leaked iPod Nano design posted by Kevin Rose earlier. Right now the iPod Nano looks to be the safest bet as to a complete upgrade to a new generation iPods. If the leaked design is fairly on the ball, then it will have addressed issues around screen size for watching videos etc. on the iPod Nano. By going back to a design more in line with the 2nd generation iPod Nano, they will create more space for a slightly larger screen that will also be in widescreen format.

As for the iPod Touch, we can all hope that we will see an improvement in memory capability to 64gb, perhaps GPS functionality, and would it not be lovely if they could integrate a microphone. Lets see how much of our iPod Touch wishlist we can cross off!

We will follow these stories closely over the coming weeks and bring you any breaking news before, during, and after the event.

The new pay as you go 3g iPhone is expected to become one of the hottest christmas presents on every kid and adults christmas wishlist this year, but it will however come with a hefty price tag.

Back when the new 3g iPhone was getting ready for its UK launch we also shared the news that it would eventually be available as an Pay-as-you-Go iPhone, and now the news according to the Times Online is that the launch date of the PAYG iPhone from O2 will be 16th September.

The new pay as you go 3g iPhone is expected to become one of the hottest christmas presents on every kid and adults christmas wishlist this year, but it will however come with a hefty price tag. The price of the PAYG iPhone from O2 will be £349.99 for the 8gb iPhone and £399.99 for the 16gb iPhone. The hefty price tag might be a stopper from making it the most popular christmas present with the wider public, but a lot of UK consumers have expressed their interest in the Pay-as-you-Go iPhone that saves them from commitment to high cost monthly contracts to get the iPhone for free.

Analysts expects queues outside the stores again on the 16th September with people interested in getting their hands on the PAYG iPhone from O2. Unfortunately you will still be stuck with O2 as your network provider as they still have the exclusive right for the UK market.

Follow this space to find out more about the launch of the new pay-as-you-go Phone in the UK.
Is the so called iPhone Girl a real beautiful mistake or is it just another successful PR stunt? At the moment no one really knows but we have our thoughts.

The story about the chinese iPhone assembly worker who left pictures of herself on an iPhone that was sold here in the UK has been one of the most written about topics on the web in the last week or so. But is the so called ‘iPhone girl’ a real story or is it just another successful PR stunt?

Perhaps we are being a bit suspicious in thinking that the iPhone Girl could be just another PR stunt to give the iPhone a new story that will keep people talking about, instead of perhaps talking about issues that the new 3g iPhone is still suffering from. The Chinese company that assembles the iPhone for Apple has before been in the news for all the wrong reasons, such as paying very low salaries and having their workers live in doorms on site with hundred workers sleeping in each room with only a bucket to wash their clothes with. Now they have a smiling worker flashing a peace sign in a photo, calling the iPhone Girl a ‘beautiful mistake’ and apparently giving the iPhone girl a day off work as the stress from all the media attention has had an impact on her and that she wishes to remain anonymous.

Perhaps the iPhone Girl was just a ‘beautiful mistake’ from a worker that was having a bit of fun while assembling an iPhone at what is most likely a very low pay, or perhaps it is just another successful PR exercise. Let us know your thoughts.

The new Sony S-Airplay AIR-SA20PK is their latest entry into the popular wireless multi room audio systems. Once you dock your iPod into this Sony system you can listen to music up to 164 feet away through the S-Air's two portable speakers.

We are looking forward to getting our hands on this new iPod Dock from Sony to do some serious testing of this multi-room iPod music system from Sony, also know as the Sony AIR-SA20PK.

The new Sony S-Airplay AIR-SA20PK is their latest entry into the popular wireless multi room audio systems that are hitting the market with force these days. Once you dock your iPod into this Sony system you can listen to music up to 164 feet away through the S-Air’s two portable speakers. Unlike the Griffin Evolve wireless iPod Dock, these speakers require to be plugged into an outlet for power, while the Griffin Evolve actually runs on chargeable batteries that is recharged when you dock the speakers with the rest of the unit, which is a great feature.

One of the potential great features of the Sony S-Airplay however is the opportunity to actually add up to 10 speakers to the unit for a true multi-room experience. The other great feature is that it also includes AM/FM tuner and it allows you to listen to both your iPod and the radio at the same time, most likely in two different rooms though!

Other features to notice with the Sony AIR-SA20PK is that it allows you to connect it up with your home entertainment system and TV as well through its composite A/V outputs.

The Sony S-Airplay iPod dock is expected to hit the market around September time and likely to retail at$400 in the US (no information on the UK yet).

Digg’s Kevin Rose has been out and about again, and this time it is the much rumored next generation iPod Nano that is to topic, as he reveals what it might look like when it supposedly hits stores later this year (source: Engadget).

Many might ask why we should believe him this time after he was way of the mark with his predictions for the first iPhone. Well, this time he supports it with some photo evidence that is backed up by lots of other rumors about what the next generation iPod Nano will look like. We have earlier made our own predictions about what the next generation iPod Nano might look like, but guess we might be wrong this time. Perhaps our prediction is a bit more futuristic. We would however be interested in hearing your opinion on which one you would prefer.

The same Kevin Rose also supports other rumors in the market about price cuts on iPod Touch and iPod Classic coming sometime this year as well, as Apple is preparing a revamp of the entire iPod range.

Looks like it will be more interesting times ahead, although we hope that there will be some subtance in the form of actual release from Apple soon and not just more rumors.

With all the news lately about iPod Nano’s bursting into flames it could be a good idea for Apple to introduce a new firealarm functionality on their coming iPod range.

Apple has recently confirmed that there has been rare occassions where the battery has been faulty and made the iPod Nano turn into sparks, shifting the blame over to a single battery supplier. The fire sparks have happened with the iPod Nano getting charged and has left he player twisted, melted and unusuable in most instances.

According to AFP, Apple is now offering to replace the batteries on the iPod Nano’s that have been sold with the potential faulty batteries in Japan between 2005 and 2006, which is potentially 1.8 million iPods.

So perhaps we have to place firealarm functionality on our wishlist for the next generation iPod.
