Apple has recently released another firmware upgrade through iTunes, this time it is iPhone OS 3.1.2 that is released, fixing at least 3 reported “bugs” and issues with the iPhone OS for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and the original iPhone as well as the iPod Touch.
The new iPhone OS 3.1.2 that is now available to download in the normal way through iTunes when you connect your iPhone or iPod Touch, fixes some earlier reported bugs, including the “coma mode” issue where the iPhone sometimes does not wake up again following being in sleep mode.
Besides the sleep mode issue, there are also fixes for an issue that interupts the cell network until the iPhone is restarted, and a fix for a bug that has sometimes made the iPhone crash when streaming video.
As mentioned all you have to do to get this new upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.2 is connect your iPhone to iTunes and the upgrade should prompt you to download and instal. Once installed your iPhone will immediately restart and alert you to carrier settings update, and then you are done.
Have not had these bug issues with my own iPhone 3GS, but keen to hear from people who have experienced the issues, and if the new iPhone OS 3.1.2 has fixed the issues.
