Apple reports delays for the white iPhone 4

On the day before the official launch of the iPhone 4 Apple and Steve Jobs have issued a statement explaining that the white iPhone 4 will be delayed until second half of July at least.

“White models of Apple’s new iPhone 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.”

We have already heard about how the massive interest in the iPhone 4 has led to a stock shortage, apparently struggling to source enough of the new high quality Retina touch displays, as 600,000 pre-orders alone has been made for the iPhone 4. So if you want to get your hands on the iPhone 4 tomorrow on the 24th it would help if you are an existing customer with a network, and you show up at early doors, with O2 amongst others confirming that many of their shops around the UK will open at 8.03am.

So if you have been hoping to get your hands on the white iPhone 4 you will have to be patient and wait for at least another 3-4 weeks.
