Apple releases firmware 1.1.5 for iPod Touch under the radar

Not long after Apple released the 2.0 software update for the iPod Touch charging their customers approximately £5 ($9.99), they have slipped an update into the mix below the radar, the software upgrade 1.1.5 for the iPod Touch.

Many iPod Touch owners were not happy about having to pay for another upgrade just months after being charged for the first one. So this new one came with hopes that it would deliver something new for free, but early reports indicate that it doesn’t, and definitely not at the level of the 2.0 firmware upgrade. In fact, according to Macworld, the upgrade does not seem to do anything for performance compared to the 1.1.4 software version.

Until Apple actually releases more information on this we can only speculate about what improvements the upgrade comes with. Unfortunately it looks like iPod Touch owners will be stuck with paying for the 2.0 software upgrade, unlike all iPhone owners.

You can download the 1.1.5 software upgrade direct from Apple here.
