Teufel Audio is one of the leading direct sellers of audio systems in Europe, including iPod speaker docks, and now they have released their first AirPlay speaker in the iTeufel Air bookshelf speaker.
With the iTeufel Air the Berlin based company has created a bookshelf AirPlay speaker that looks quite stylish and is packed with 100W of total power output, spread across two independent 20W two-way speakers and a centrally placed 130mm 40W subwoofer. Combined this set up is said to deliver a well balanced sound with clear highs, mid-range, and a deep powerful bass. The Panorama DSP feature helps ensure that you get a more spacious sound experience by making the left and right channels seem further apart then what they actually are in this compact set up.
Design wise the speaker sit on an integrated stand that lifts the speaker up from the ground and gives the downfiring subwoofer a bit more room to deliver a better performance. While this AirPlay speaker does not include a physical docking station, you can use the Aux-in to connect audio sources, as well as of course using the built in wifi for AirPlay streaming.
The iTeufel Air is now available from Teufel Audio online in the UK for £429.99.
