Arguably, Denon with the original Ceol network music system was the first to introduce AirPlay streaming in the market, and now the well known audio visual brand is ready with a new version of the system in the Ceol Piccolo network music system.
The Denon Ceol Piccolo is what Denon describes as “our biggest small thing of the year”, a mini hifi system for your home that not only includes AirPlay streaming, but also services such as the new Play To from Windows, DLNA streaming from networked computers or NAS drives, internet radio, Spotify, Last.fm, iPod docking station, USB, and through the digital input, take audio from your television or set-top box. Unlike the big brother, it does not have the built in CD player, but unless you have an impressive CD collection that has not been digitized yet, you don’t really need it. CD’s are so 90s!
With the Ceol Piccolo you get a versatile and highly compact wifi enabled networked 2-way sound system that you can match up with your current speakers, or you can buy a range of compatible speakers that will give you the best possible audio performance from this system. Denon themselves recommends their matching SC-N5 speakers, but you can of course get any other speakers to connect with the Ceol Piccolo as well. There are quite a few ‘package purchases’ available that includes Ceol Piccolo with a pair of speakers at Amazon UK. The system also features output for a subwoofer at the back. The variety of features is what makes the Ceol Piccolo a good alternative to many other Airplay speakers in the market.
