Beats by Dre are increasing their product portfolio in the increasingly popular portable audio accessory market with the release of the new Beats Pill wireless speaker – just what the doctor ordered.
Beats Pill portable wireless speaker
The portable wireless speaker market is really heating up these days as there is now a myriad of bluetooth speakers in all shapes and sizes to choose from. With the Beats Pill wireless speaker Beats by Dre is hoping to bring some serious competition to the likes of Jawbone Jambox and the new Hidden Radio, not to mention the likes of Bose, Philips, and the AirPlay enabled Libratone ZIPP.
Beats Pill is hoping to stand out from the crowd using AptX Bluetooth technlogy, which delivers a higher quality stream compared to normal bluetooth, which often compresses the audio too much, as well as being the first in its category to offer tap-to-pair NFC technology, which is great for those that have NFC enabled devices (unfortunately not yet for Apple devices).
To ensure portability, they have kept the speaker fairly small, shaped like a pill (hence the name), and of course included a rechargeable battery with up to 8-hours playback time between charges. There is also the other standard features of portable wireless speakers, such as built in mic for hands-free calling, and a 3.5mm line-in for wired connection.
The Beats Pill is available in red, white and black to start with, retailing at around £170. According to Amazon UK the release date is 8th November.

The Executive Headphones is taking design and aesthetic to an all new level. But it still ain’t executive enough because I dont find executives wearing one of these. Beats by Dre would almost always be for those cool people – executives included – who value style and functionality above all else.
