4,000 applications for the coming iPhone

As we have reported before the software developers around the world have been downloading the iPhone developers kit like hot cakes and are now working on a large variety of new applications for the iPhone that is hitting the market in the next week.

According to a Business Week report around 4,000 so called native applications are being developed at the moment for the new iPhone. These are applications that are designed to run directly on the 3G iPhone and not by downloading through a web browser. It is further expected that the first of these applications will be available around the same time as the launch of the new iPhone.

Business users should also be happy to hear that many of the new applications are targeting business users, such as the Salesforce application and the Briefcase iPhone application that allows for people to fetch documents from their computer remotely by using the iPhone.
